January: Winter sports

In January, the focus will be on skiing. Cross-country skiing, biathlon competitions and marathons are planned. Special cross-country skiing trails will be equipped in the city parks. Fans will be able to attend master classes on skiing techniques, as well as lectures on the proper care of ski equipment. An important part of the program will be a winter sports festival, where guests will be able to try their hand at skating and snowboarding.

February: Martial Arts

February will be the month of martial arts. The Syle sports center will host demonstration performances and open training sessions in various types of martial arts, including judo, karate, taekwondo and boxing. International competitions in sambo and mixed martial arts are planned, with athletes from different countries taking part. The organizers will also offer programs for children and teenagers, where they can learn the basics of self-defense.

March: Ice Disciplines

March will be dedicated to speed skating and figure skating. The city's ice arenas will host short track, hockey and synchronized skating competitions. In addition, there will be an ice show festival featuring famous figure skaters. As part of the events, free training sessions are planned for everyone, where professional coaches will help you master basic skating skills.

April: Track and Field

April will be the month of track and field. The city will host races of various distances, including marathons and relay races. Special attention will be paid to Nordic walking, as well as family sports events in which every resident and guest of the city will be able to take part. Parks and stadiums will host long jump, high jump and discus throw competitions.

May: Cycling

May will bring with it cycling races and bike rides. Cycling enthusiasts will be able to take part in races along city streets and picturesque routes in the outskirts of Tallinn. Events for professionals and amateurs are planned, including time trials and cross-country races.

June: Water Sports

Summer will mark the beginning of the water sports season. Swimming, kayaking, sailing and rowing competitions will be held on Tallinn’s beaches. There will also be beach volleyball and water polo festivals. Beginners will be able to take training courses to learn how to sail boats and catamarans.

July: Beach Sports

July will be dedicated to beach sports. Volleyball tournaments, frisbee competitions and yoga classes on the beach will be part of the busy programme. The month will also see the open championship in beach football.

August: Extreme Sports

August is the month of extreme sports. Skateboarding, BMX, parkour and kitesurfing will take centre stage. The month will also see a major extreme sports festival, which will bring together participants from all over the world. 

September: Team Sports

Autumn will please fans of team sports. Football, basketball, rugby and field hockey tournaments are planned. Amateur competitions will be organized, in which everyone can take part.

October: Sports Games and Gymnastics

In October, attention will be paid to sports games and gymnastics. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics will be organized, as well as tournaments in chess and table tennis.

November: Winter Preparations

November will be a preparatory month for winter sports. Endurance training will be held, as well as lectures on healthy nutrition in the winter.

December: Results of the sports year

December will end the year with summing up the results and awarding the best athletes and participants. A gala concert and a ceremonial closing of the program are planned.

Inclusion in sports

Tallinn actively supports inclusion in sports, providing equal opportunities for all residents. Special events are planned for people with disabilities, including adaptive sports such as Paralympic running, swimming and wheelchair basketball. The city authorities are implementing programs aimed at integrating people with special needs into the sports environment, creating accessible infrastructure and training coaches to work with inclusive groups.
