Why Koidula and not Narva
The road via Narva is shorter, but the Ivangorod - Narva crossing is right in the town. It is busy with people and buses, queues are long and the time at the border is hard to predict.
The Kunichina Gora - Koidula crossing lies away from any towns. Pskov is about 50 minutes away. On the Russian side of the border there is only a petrol station, and on the Estonian side there is one cafe. There are few people and no bus crowds, and the crossing usually takes 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the circumstances. The road is longer, but the trip is calmer and more predictable.
How the trip works
Your driver picks you up in Saint Petersburg and takes you to the Kunichina Gora checkpoint. On the way you can stop whenever you like, for example for a snack.
You cross the border on foot. The pedestrian crossing is 500 to 600 metres long on asphalt, so it is easy to walk with luggage. The driver drops you off as close to the checkpoint as possible.
Before the trip you receive the details of both drivers and both cars, so on each side of the border you know who is meeting you. The drivers stay in contact with each other the whole time. When the Russian driver drops you off at the checkpoint, he lets the Estonian driver know that you have started the crossing and sometimes sends a photo so that you are easy to recognise. Your Estonian driver meets you as close as possible to the Koidula exit and takes you to Tallinn.
If the border takes longer than usual, the driver in Estonia will wait for you. There is no charge for waiting.
The Kunichina Gora - Koidula pedestrian crossing is open from 7:00 to 19:00. When you book, our manager will recommend the best departure time from Saint Petersburg for the fastest crossing.

Do I need to pay in advance?
No, there is no prepayment. You pay the drivers on the spot.
Do you pick up at Pulkovo Airport?
Yes. We track your flight, and if it is delayed, the driver will wait for you. On request, the driver will meet you with a name sign.
Do you have child seats, and can I travel with pets?

On request, the whole trip can be paid as one amount in EUR or in RUB at the exchange rate of the day.
