A 13th century town wall inside the hotel
What makes Nunne special is that a genuine medieval limestone town wall runs straight through the building. The original arrow slits can still be seen in the corridors, and in the suites the 13th century wall has become part of the interior. Across the street stand the Nun's Tower and the Monastery Gate, and through the tower you can step out onto a walk along the town wall.
All 74 rooms are individually designed, with pale oak parquet, handmade wool rugs, furniture by Estonian craftsmen and works by local artists. The hotel is featured in the Michelin Guide.

The hotel sits right below Toompea Hill, home to the castle where the Estonian parliament, the Riigikogu, meets. Close to the hotel, by Snelli Pond in Toompark, the Patkuli stairs begin: 157 steps built in 1903 climb up to a viewing platform with one of the most famous views over the rooftops, towers and walls of the Old Town. The Kohtuotsa viewpoint is just a few minutes further on.
