Tallinn Airport transfer to Hestia Hotel Ilmarine
Hestia Hotel Ilmarine is at Põhja puiestee 21b, at the foot of the Old Town on the edge of the Kalamaja district. The hotel is about 6 kilometres from the airport, roughly a 20 minute drive, and the car takes you right to the entrance.
The hotel was formerly called Domina Inn Ilmarine and later PK Ilmarine Hotel, and many guests still look for it under those names.
The factory where Tallinn first switched on the electric light
The hotel occupies the former engineering works of Friedrich Wiegand, built in 1880 to a design by architect Nikolai Thamm. The factory made steam engines and boilers, and in 1882 it opened Tallinn's first power plant, replacing gas lamps with electric light.
In 1920 the works were bought by the Ilmarine company, which gave its name to the whole quarter. The limestone façades survive to this day, and the interiors still hint at the building's industrial past. There are around 150 rooms, including split level suites, along with a restaurant, a gym and rooms for small meetings.
Kalamaja and the Seaplane Harbour nearby
Step outside and you are in Kalamaja, a district of old wooden houses, cosy cafés and restaurants. Balti Jaam Market and the Telliskivi Creative City are close by, and down by the sea is the Seaplane Harbour, a maritime museum in historic seaplane hangars, home to the submarine Lembit.
Meeting, cars and child seats
Most of the passengers we drive to Ilmarine are tourists. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign and tracks your flight. For one or two people we send a sedan, for families or groups of up to 8 a Mercedes-Benz V-Class or Vito, and for larger groups minibuses and coaches.
Infant carriers and child seats for any age are ready on request. The price is fixed, with no extra charge for night arrivals or flight delays.
Back to the airport, port or station
On your departure day we collect you from the hotel entrance and take you to the airport, the passenger port, the bus station or Balti Jaam railway station. We work around the clock, and a night pickup costs the same as a daytime one.
Trips on your own route
If you would like to get out of the city, we will plan a trip around you: a full day or a few hours, by sedan or van, stopping wherever you like. A guide in your language can join on request.
