Tallinn Airport to Rixwell Viru Square Hotel transfer
Rixwell Viru Square Hotel stands on Viru street, at Viru 11, in Tallinn Old Town, just steps from the Viru Gates. It is about 6 kilometres from the airport, and the drive takes around 25 minutes. From the passenger port, the hotel is about 5 kilometres away.
Drop-off at the hotel door, not at the flower market
Viru street is pedestrian, and cars are not allowed on it. If you are dropped off at the flower market by the Viru Gates, you still face a long walk with your suitcases over the cobblestones.
We hold an Old Town entry permit, so we take a detour: via Vene street, then along Munga and Müürivahe streets, right to the hotel entrance. The route is a little longer, but you step out of the car at the door, and the driver helps with your luggage.
Rixwell Viru Square and Baltic Vana Wiru are the same hotel
The hotel used to be called Baltic Vana Wiru Hotel and is now part of the Rixwell chain. Please do not confuse it with Original Sokos Hotel Viru, a different high-rise hotel on Viru Square outside the Old Town. When booking, simply mention Viru 11 or Rixwell Viru Square, and the driver will take you to the right place.
A cosy hotel in a 1950s building
The building dates from the 1950s and was completely rebuilt as a hotel in 2002. It has 82 rooms in a classic style. The spacious rooms on the fifth floor look out over the red tiled roofs and courtyards of the Old Town, and some of them have their own sauna or jacuzzi.
The hotel is home to Farm, a restaurant serving Estonian cuisine, the Rukis café and bakery with fresh pastries, and a lobby bar. Guests can book a Finnish sauna or a Turkish bath, and there is a conference room for up to 45 people for business meetings.
Dinner at Olde Hansa near the hotel
Very close to the hotel, at Vana turg 1, is Olde Hansa, a restaurant we always recommend to our guests. It recreates the atmosphere of medieval Hanseatic Tallinn and is just a couple of minutes on foot from Town Hall Square.
Sedan or minivan
A sedan suits one or two passengers with luggage. For families or groups of up to 8 people, we have Mercedes-Benz Vito and V-Class minivans with plenty of room for suitcases and child seats.
For larger groups, we can arrange a minibus with 18 or 24 seats or a 55-seat coach.
Meet and greet at Tallinn Airport
The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps with your luggage. We track your flight, and if it is delayed, the driver adjusts the pick-up time. On request, we can also meet you at the VIP terminal of Tallinn Airport.
Child seats for any age
If you are travelling with children, we prepare the car in advance: we have infant carriers and child seats for any age. Just tell us the ages of the children when booking, and the price stays the same.
Back to the airport or port at any hour
On departure day, the driver picks you up at the hotel entrance by the same route via Müürivahe street and takes you to your flight or ferry. We work 24/7, and an early morning ride costs the same as a daytime one.
Tallinn city tour with a guide
The hotel sits at the very start of the main street of the Old Town, so getting to know Tallinn begins right outside its door. We organise guided city tours in your preferred language, on foot through the Old Town and by car beyond its walls.
We plan the route and length around your wishes, and the tour can be done by sedan or minivan.

A sedan transfer from Tallinn Airport to Rixwell Viru Square Hotel costs from 25 EUR one way. The price is fixed, with no extra charge for night arrivals, flight delays or the detour to the hotel entrance.
